In January, Bob made the trip back to Bryan Ohio where he grew up to re-unite with his old buddies in Dove. It marked the first time in over 30 years that they had played together and the occasion was a benefit for Davey Farrell, the bass player.
Bob travels back to Bryan for Dove reunion
Bob says,
"I am beginning a new ministry by offering my services to worship teams and youth bands around the country. With over 35 years of performance and worship experience, I am offering a weekend of work with your team. The weekend will consist of a Friday evening session, two Saturday sessions and Sunday morning worship. Among the topics of discussion will be:
Approach to worship
Arrangements
Sound
Song selection
Presentation
Flow
It is my goal to instruct and exhort your team to excellence in this most holy calling. Email me for more information!"
Davey was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer and had a tumor removed and further surgeries and treaments that left him with overwhelming medical bills. The benefit was a huge success with standing room only. Bryan is a unique city with a history of many great musicians, most of whom played throughout the day and evening. Although weakened by his treatments, Davey was able to play, and made it through the evening with flying colors. Davey is trusting the Lord day by day. Please keep him in your prayers.
The band played some of the oldies that weren't oldies the last time they played them, like Train Kept A Rollin', Purple Haze, Funk #49, Crossroads, Ohio, and others. It was a wonderful reunion and everyone had a blast!
Bob lends his talents to Shiloh-Sheray
Bob recently recorded several guitar tracks for the album "The Way We Are", by new artist Shiloh-Sheray. Bob says, "Shiloh is a very talented young lady and I was happy to be asked to contribute to her new album. She is the kind of artist I like to see in Christian music!"
